Debauchery and Magic Skateboarding: Controls and Tricks

Skateboarding in Debauchery and Magic functions as a primary traversal method, allowing wizards to equip looted boards, chain airborne tricks, grind marked rails, and complete point challenges at the northern skate park for gold.

How to Get and Equip Skateboards

Skateboards serve as personal mounts alongside mounts like horses. Players acquire boards as random loot drops from chests inside dungeons such as the Goblin Cave, or by receiving spare gear from party members during online co op sessions.

Chests roll boards with distinct color finishes and model labels, including Skateboard 01, Skateboard 03, Skateboard 08, Skateboard 13, blue variants, and orange variants. Players place a board into an active inventory slot or usable keybind to mount and dismount across the world map. Extra boards can be dropped directly onto the ground for other players or saved in town stash storage.

Skateboarding Controls and Trick Inputs

Skateboard movement blends standard character physics with arcade board mechanics. Getting into the air allows players to rotate the deck, perform grabs, or execute multi-flip inputs before landing.

Move TypeInput CommandIn-Game Action
Ollie / JumpSpacebarLaunches character into the air
Flip / KickflipF or Right Mouse ButtonExecutes standard flip rotation
ManualRight Mouse Button on flat groundBalances on back wheels to link trick combos
Rail GrindHold Right Mouse Button near railsLocks onto grindable rails and structures
Pop Shove-itQ key while airborneSpins board horizontally mid-air
Air GrabE key while airbornePerforms an ollie grab
Varial Heel FlipFast directional input with E in airFlips and spins the board diagonally
HardflipJump, then tap Q, E, and F twiceExecutes advanced multi-axis flip trick

Chaining inputs extends the point multiplier. Landing flat resets the combo string, while failing to level the board before contacting uneven terrain results in a wipeout that knocks the character down.

Northern Skate Park Location and Quests

The dedicated skate facility sits in the northern district of the map near the castle grounds, marked by large ramps, halfpipes, loops, and a global skateboarding leaderboard. Players head to this zone during the demo to complete specific NPC requests and accumulate score rankings.

Two specific characters offer skateboarding objectives within this zone:

  • William's Goo Rail Challenge: William stands near the slime-covered rails in the park. Interacting with him activates a collection run where grinding rails marked with green goo pays 1 gold for each successful contact. Grinding the rail loop multiple times in one run provides an easy income stream to fund tavern games and gambling tables in Pondhawk.
  • Greg and Barbara's High Score Contest: Greg and his mother Barbara wait on the platform overlooking the halfpipes. Greg taunts the player to prove their skills by hitting a target combo score of 100,000 points. Chaining continuous varial kickflips, triple kickflips, and flatground manuals satisfies the requirement, prompting Greg to reward the player with 5 gold.

Skateboarding Objective Comparison

Choosing which park activity to pursue depends on whether the goal is quick coin generation, quest clearing, or climbing server score tallies ahead of the game's release in early access.

Skate ActivityBest ForRequirements and Payout
William's Goo RailsConsistent early gold farmingHold Right Mouse Button on green slime rails; pays 1 gold per grind
Greg's Score ContestQuick quest progressionChain aerial flips and manuals to reach 100,000 points; pays 5 gold
Leaderboard RunsHigh score competitionString continuous loop-de-loops and multi-trick aerials without wiping out

Players can combine high-multiplier skate lines across the town roads between Pondhawk and the northern park, using flatground manuals to maintain combos between rail segments.
