Debauchery and Magic Walkthrough: Main Story and Dungeon Guide

This Debauchery and Magic walkthrough outlines every critical path objective from waking up outside camp to navigating the Goblin Cave, completing Pondelhawk village contracts, and reaching the demo climax at the Church of Cheese.

Starting Camp and the Goblin Cave

You begin outside a ransacked camp speaking to the Blue Wizard, who explains that goblins raided the celebration, made off with a month's worth of brew, and stole your tankard. You are tasked with following the trail of debris leading toward the Goblin Cave.

Before plunging into the cave, search the immediate camp perimeter. You can pick up starting equipment such as a basic staff or hat from your inventory or nearby ground spawns. Chopping trees with standard attacks grants wood, while wild mushrooms can be consumed directly to alter visuals and grant small perks.

The initial dungeon entrance leads straight into the cave interior. When playing in online co op with up to 12 players, any teammate can initiate an exit vote by pressing U to open the dungeon forum once objectives clear.

The introductory trap corridor presents heavy spinning blades swinging across narrow stone bridges over water. If you fall in, your character automatically treads water, requiring you to swim to side ramps and climb back up.

The most reliable way to cross the blade swinging sequence is adjusting your camera sideways or looking upward toward the support poles. Walking laterally lets you judge the blade arc without depth distortion. When you reach the mid-platform, wait safely in the entrance corner before timing the next dash.

Past the blade bridges, fight through roaming goblins to uncover tiered loot chests. Opening chests rolls a D20 die that determines the quality of your gear, ranging from goblin greaves and helmets to weapons like greatswords and runic arcane bows.

Before passing the final door, look for the highlighted quest item marker to collect your belongings and clear the "Search for your belongings" objective. Defeating the cave's goblin boss unlocks mount summons and high-tier rewards such as a personal skateboard or steed.

Pondelhawk Village Decree and Gertie's Quests

Exiting the cave returns you to the Blue Wizard, who directs you toward the village of Pondelhawk to speak with Alderman Gary Hanks. Upon entering town, a royal herald announces King Betron's proclamation: the Kingdom of Debasis has officially outlawed public intoxication, unapproved potion trading, and debauchery under threat of death.

Gary Hanks points you directly to Gertie, the tavern keeper. Gertie offers gold and a keg of strong brew if you clean up the town following the goblin rampage.

Gertie's assignment involves two distinct objectives:

  1. Vandalize five propaganda posters scattered around the village. You receive a paintbrush tool to deface posters located on the tavern exterior, near Drew's shop, beside Bartholomew's station, and near Thomas.
  2. Descend into the tavern cellar to eliminate the intoxicated goblin boss passed out amongst the storage barrels.

Town Quests and Brewing Deliveries

After reporting back to Gertie, multiple citizens throughout Pondelhawk offer side jobs that reward gold and progression items:

Quest GiverObjective RequirementsRewards and Outcomes
GertieDeface 5 posters and defeat the cellar goblinGold and a keg of house brew
BartholomewAssassinate or confront the man named Daniel300 to 600 gold or 20 gold with weed bribe
DrewCatch a fish using the Old Reliable rodPotion vendor access and inventory fishing rod
Rich NobleBrew goblin beer in the outdoor cauldronGold reward and hint about the capital city

Speaking to Drew grants an entry-level fishing rod. Cast into nearby water nodes, monitor the reeling bar, and return any catch—such as a Crumbfish Crimpler or Hollow Hawk—to unlock general access to alchemy wares. For the brewing request, bring goblin parts collected from roaming enemies to the village station cauldron to complete the Wilam beer quest.

Minigames and the Church of Cheese

Pondelhawk features several casual pastimes you can engage with between missions. Inside the tavern, interact with tables to play beer pong, rack up racks on the pool table, or wager your spare coins on the blackjack and roulette setups.

Acquiring your transport mount allows you to access outdoor terrain features. Gary Hanks provides a voucher redeemable at Jerry's stable, where you receive a board instead of an ordinary horse. Practicing manual holds and kickflips allows you to participate in Greg's skate challenge at the park ramps, competing against local high scores.

To finish the main storyline progression, speak with Drunk Jim by the slot machines. Double his 10 gold stake at the casino tables, and he reveals that the Debauchery Lodge escaped to the Church of Cheese. Traveling out to the Church of Cheese triggers the final narrative milestone, completing the primary demo campaign.
